As the engineer for the general contractor J. B. Fay, Co. SAI was responsible for the preliminary and final retaining wall design of one soldier pile and lagging wall and one soldier pile and tieback wall for a project that included the construction of two new ramps, replacement of a four lane 300' two-span steel structure, and five retaining walls all within a two-year construction schedule that had significant traffic control restrictions and time constraints.

  • Performed engineering design review of three additional modular retaining walls.
  • Value engineering of original wall designs by other consulting engineering firm.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 11-0 was honored by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers with the 2009 Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award for this project.
