Bridge Rehabilitation and Replacement

SAI is responsible for the Preliminary engineering, final design, and construction consultation for the total replacement of an obsolete structure carrying S.R. 3025 over Little Connoquenessing Creek in Butler County, Pennsylvania with a new two-span steel structure.

Physical Features: 
  • 140' two-span continuous steel girder bridge over Little Connoquenessing Creek.
  • Bridge deck comprises 4,200 sq. ft.
  • 450' of roadway approach realignment and reconstruction of a two-lane rural neighborhood collector with an ADT of 2,397.
Other Features: 
  • Structure skew is at 75-degrees with a Sag vertical curve.
  • Substructure components consist of integral abutments with a solid pier on spread footing that was aligned to the water flow of the creek.
  • Hydraulic design and hydrologic studies.
  • Signing and pavement marking plan.
  • CPM scheduling, shop drawing review, and constructability review.
  • Traffic maintained during construction via detour.
