Ribbon Cutting of Frankie Pace Park/I-579 CAP Project

Today is the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Frankie Pace Park/ I-579 CAP Project. This project is the first step in reconnecting the historical Hill District with the heart of downtown. SAI provided on site construction inspection throughout the entirety of the project. Project includes a three unit adjacent box beam structure constructed by JB Fay; with 232 piles, 43 caissons and columns, and 126 precast box beams completed in 2020. Then the project transformed from a structure project to a beautification and collaborative project. The deck was waterproofed by JB Fay, Thoroughbred Construction Group, and CH&D Enterprises joined forces to construct a park stretching from Chatham Street to Washington Place. It includes 50 architecturally designed walls, over 5400 SY of concrete sidewalk; including 860 SY of red sidewalk and 1570 SY of exposed aggregate sidewalk, 60 light poles, and numerous interactive pieces including seat drums and chimes.
