Structures Department Manager

Department Manager-Structures – We are looking for a team member in our Transportation Design Group with the desire to lead manage and supervise all structure department-related functions in our Pittsburgh office and coordinate with the structure staff in our branch offices.



  • Supervise Structures Department personnel
  • Assign personnel to projects and project teams
  • Review progress of assigned personnel relative to quality, schedule, and budget
  • Review design drawings and reports
  • Develop/maintain department manpower requirements, design processes, and procedures
  • Oversee development and updates to Department’s Quality Plan
  • Ensure that Project Engineers/Work Group Leaders monitor task budgets and progress
  • Enforce Department policies
  • Participate in new hire process and perform annual review process of department personnel
  • Approve all payroll charges to projects


  • 15+ years of experience, six (6) of which have been in progressively responsible supervisory work
  • S. Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited University is required
  • PE License in PA required
  • Experience with PennDOT and PTC projects development required
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop manpower estimates, construction schedules, and estimates
