SR 4029-H00, Arden Road Bridge – Design/Build

SAI was responsible for the final replacement design of a simple-span prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge over Burgetts Fork in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Physical features:

  • 49′ simple-span prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge over Burgetts Fork.
  • Approximately 370′ of roadway approach on a two-lane rural collector road.
  • Structure skew is 60 degrees with substructure units consisting of integral abutments.

Other features:

  • Integral abutments were utilized to minimize environmental disturbance, provide quicker construction, allow more cost effective substructures to be utilized and eliminate problematic deck joints.
  • Utility relocation coordination.
  • Hydraulic design and hydrologic studies.
  • Traffic analysis and control plan.
  • Signing and pavement marking plan.
  • Traffic maintained via a temporary run-a-round utilizing a stream crossing.
