SR 1011-470, Pond Eddy Bridge over the Delaware River Replacement Project, Pike County, Pennsylvania – Update. The roadway reconstruction on the New York approach along NY 97 is still ongoing. They’ve completed one lane (except for the wearing surface) on the southern portion up to the existing bridge. Remaining work on NY 97 is scheduled for the next week or two. This includes the temporary closure and detour of the two associated side roads the week of August 13th; High Road and Hollow Road; to make the tie-ins. Construction of the PA abutment wall is essentially complete. The only remaining work is the construction of the upper portion of the wingwalls; expected to be poured by next week. Steel erection of the PA truss span is complete and the bolts are tightened. They are currently installing the deck pans, which are about 1/3 of the way across the span. Overhang brackets are also being installed. Rebar placement will follow this and the plan is to pour the deck on August 23rd (target date). The demolition plan for the existing bridge is still being finalized and worked out with the district. Everything is still on track to move traffic to the new bridge sometime in late September 2018.
