SAI works with PennDOT’s project team to lessen public impact during the Shaler Street Bridge replacement

Using a new installation process for the first time in Pennsylvania, self-propelled modular transport (SPMT) will lift and move the pair of premade 70 foot, 270 ton spans over 600 feet to place the new bridge above the Saw Mill Run Boulevard below. The road will be closed just twice during this process and the bridge will open a few weeks later.  SAI is performing construction inspection as part of the Michael Baker led consultant team to reconstruct the West End Bypass.
