SAI’s Jason DeFlitch, PE, head of structure design, presented to 3rd and 4th grade classes at Sunset Valley Elementary, discussing bridge concepts relating to classwork. This included the use of shapes and calculating area. Students reviewed various bridge types for their design concept…even Princess Elsa’s ice bridge! Afterward, each student made their own bridge from paper using the concepts in the presentation and loaded them with matchbox cars. Students asked lots of good questions and enjoyed stacking cars on their bridges. #stemcareers
