Aprille Ericsson – the first black woman to earn a PhD in engineering from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Aprille Ericsson designs spacecraft and instruments that contribute to our understanding of the Sun-Earth connection. Ericsson received her PhD in mechanical engineering from Howard University and her aeronautical engineering degree from MIT.
