Greg will present “A Modern Truss for the 21st Century – The Pond Eddy Bridge Replacement Project” at ASHE’s National Virtual Conference – Thursday May 27, 2021 during Track 3B beginning at 10:00 AM.
Winner of the ABCD 2018-2019 Outstanding New Long Span Bridge Award, the Pond Eddy Bridge spans the Delaware River between Pike County, PA, and Sullivan County, NY. The replacement structure consists of a two-span Pratt truss constructed immediately upstream of the original. The project required significant coordination with environmental and government agencies and in-depth community involvement. The design team recognized the need to maintain the site’s historical integrity as well as its significance as a local landmark to the community it serves.
With 23 years of experience in the transportation industry, Greg Soule serves on the Board of Directors for ASHE Harrisburg and is a member of ASHE Clearfield, ASHE Williamsport, and ASHE North East Penn. Greg served as the Project Manager for the Pond Eddy Bridge and offers unique insight into the engineering challenges of this project.
