In honor of National Heroes Day, SAI gives a shoutout to Chris Cavanah, PE, Project Manager. Chris enlisted in the Air Force after high school where he served at Nellis FB in Las Vegas, NV during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. And although he was not deployed to the Middle East, he served the United States in the 820th Red Horse Civil Engineering squadron as a field surveyor and draftsman – before CAD. Chris says that the engineering officers would design the project (whether a road or a building), and as a Civil Engineer Technician, he would survey the area onsite then draw up the plans. This experience not only introduced him to Civil Engineering but sparked an interest in the field. Chris graduated from Penn State with a Civil Engineering degree where he uses his expertise as part of the SAI team. #nationalheroesday #CivilEngineering
