Highway Project Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design team developing roadway improvements for highway-related projects
  • Coordinate design elements over multiple disciplines
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee project team scheduling and progress
  • Review and seal plans, specifications, and estimates for contract bidding as Engineer of Record
  • Complete designated assignments and report progress to project managers
  • Mentor, review, and check work of junior staff
  • Perform field views and attend on-site and off-site meetings
  • Participate in proposal development, project scoping, and project staffing projections
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, consultants, and our clients
  • Attend professional organization meetings to build relationships and assist with business development
  • Perform complex design functions
  • Monitor the performance of projects, including quality, schedule, and budget

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 12 years of direct experience in the design of PennDOT and/or PTC transportation projects
  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required
  • PE license or ability to obtain PE license within 1 year required
  • Microstation and OpenRoads Designer or InRoads experience required
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
