SAI launched our public works service with assignments for highway and bridge design and bridge inspection in 1964. Since then, we have earned a reputation for our civil engineering experience.
In 1996, the employees of SAI purchased the company, and SAI became an ESOP corporation. An employee-owned professional consulting engineering firm, SAI has more than 140 professionals and support staff with a corporate office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and three additional offices in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Lake Mary, Florida.
SAI is a transportation-focused civil engineering design, inspection, and construction management firm that provides the knowledge, experience and resources that are necessary for our clients to achieve their organizational goals.
SAI's focus is solving complicated infrastructure problems for our clients one project at a time. With the steadily declining revenue sources of state and federal liquid fuels taxes dwindling, transportation continues to be underfunded. Thereby leaving state departments of transportation struggling with increasingly limited budgets and staffs attempting to maintain their facilities with less money every year. SAI works within our clients’ budgets to deliver a responsible and functional design.
