Lake Mary, Florida Office

CEI Senior Project Engineer : – A civil engineering degree and registered in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months) and six (6) years of engineering experience [(two (2) years of which are in major road or bridge construction)] or [(five (5) of which are in major bridge construction) – for Complex Bridge Projects with the exception of PTS projects which require two (2) years of major bridge construction], or for non-degreed personnel the aforementioned registration and ten (10) years of engineering experience (two (2) years of which are in major road or bridge construction). Qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing); direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program; plans and organizes the work of subordinate and staff members; develops and/or reviews policies, methods, practices, and procedures; and reviews programs for conformance with Department standards. Also must have the following:

Qualifications:
Attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination.

Certifications:
FDOT Advanced MOT

Other:
Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects)

A Master’s Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year engineering experience.

Pittsburgh Office

Senior Project Manager – will work with our key staff in our Pittsburgh office on signature projects for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Turnpike Commission, and complex city of Pittsburgh engineering projects.

  • Senior Project Managers are responsible for openly sharing their technical expertise and providing mentorship of our young engineering professionals. At SAI, we value professional development, and we look to our Project Managers to be thought leaders within our organization.
  • The position requires planning and defining project scope of work and fees and ensuring that project/task schedules and budgets are met.

Professional Requirements:

  • Natural team leader willing to champion their project team members and be thought leaders within our organization
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering
  • 8 or more years of experience in highway design, bridge design, or bridge inspection
  • Understanding of PennDOT and PA Turnpike Commission’s design development
  • Professional Engineer’s License

Contractor Services Manager – Requires a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience including supervisory experience. Responsibilities will include marketing and expanding the company’s Design/Build and Contractor Services Departments, managing/lead D/B projects, and contractor assignments. Works with contractors to investigate opportunities in design/build, alternate designs, and construction engineering services. Supervision/training of highway engineers and drafters; monitoring/developing budgets and schedules; and assistance with SOIs. A Professional Engineer’s license is required.

All candidates must have outstanding written and verbal communications skills.

Transportation Construction Inspectors and Supervisors – Local highways and bridges. NICET certification and NECEPT Asphalt and Concrete certification preferred, and PennDOT and/or Turnpike experience is a plus.  Knowledge of PennDOT’s ECMS and PPCC system is a plus.

Technical Assistant (Entry Level Construction Inspection) – No experience required; however, applicant must, at a minimum, have their high school diploma or GED, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and do basic math computation for length, area, and volume.  Some experience in the transportation industry is a plus.
