Pittsburgh Office

Accounting Manager – SAI Consulting Engineers, Inc., a local engineering firm in the Strip District, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager. This position is responsible for the daily operation of all phases of accounting and financial functions of the company, including corporate payroll and payroll taxes; client invoicing and job cost accounting; general ledger and account analysis; accounts payable and receivable; overhead control; fiscal planning; corporate audits; monthly balance sheet and profit/loss statements; cash management and all related reporting. Must have experience with ADP Workforce Now, Deltek Vision, 401(k), and ESOP plans. Must possess ability to interface with all levels of management, technical staff, and outside contacts. Must be a self-starter with hands-on ability to work independently. B.S. degree in Accounting, Business or Finance is required along with a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in an engineering company and with supervisory experience.

Bridge Inspection Project Engineer – Requires a minimum of 10 years of field experience and PennDOT Bridge Safety Inspection Certification. All candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office. A Professional Engineer’s license or progress toward sitting for the PE exam is expected. Knowledge of PennDOT iForms, National Bridge Elements, and BMS2 coding is required. Experience on PA Turnpike Commission projects is a plus. 

Senior Project Manager – will work with our key staff in our Pittsburgh office on signature projects for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Turnpike Commission, and complex city of Pittsburgh engineering projects.

Professional Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering
  • 8 or more years of experience in highway design, bridge design, or bridge inspection
  • Understanding of PennDOT and PA Turnpike Commission’s design development
  • Professional Engineer’s License

Water Resource Engineer – Candidates must have a B.S. in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of experience in water resource work on PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike projects. Responsibilities will include project site and roadway drainage layout and design; Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control (E&SPC) planning and design; Stormwater Management planning, analysis and design; Best Management Practice (BMP) implementation and design; Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis and modeling (HEC-RAS, HY-8, etc.); Environmental and Waterway Permitting (Ch. 102/105)/NPDES. Candidate will be expected to provide analysis and design in accordance with client requirements; coordinate for acquisition of PA DEP and local permits; work directly with clients as well as coordination with regulating and reviewing agencies; project planning and scheduling; assist in the preparation of E&SPC plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates; provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical staff. Experience with MicroStation and water resource related software is preferred. A Professional Engineer’s license, or ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire, is required. Candidate should desire to grow and advance technical knowledge and transition to a position to manage the Water Resource Group at SAI.

Contractor Services Manager – Requires a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience including supervisory experience. Responsibilities will include marketing and expanding the company’s Design/Build and Contractor Services Departments, managing/lead D/B projects, and contractor assignments. Works with contractors to investigate opportunities in design/build, alternate designs, and construction engineering services. Supervision/training of highway engineers and drafters; monitoring/developing budgets and schedules; and assistance with SOIs. A Professional Engineer’s license is required.

All candidates must have outstanding written and verbal communications skills.

Project Engineer (Bridge) Responsible for performing and supervising a variety of structural engineering design and analysis of bridge, retaining wall, and culvert elements.

Professional Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
  • P.E. License
  • 10+ Years of Experience in Bridge Design and Plan Presentation
  • Knowledgeable in use of AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications

Transportation Construction Inspectors and Supervisors – Local highways and bridges. NICET certification and NECEPT Asphalt and Concrete certification preferred, and PennDOT and/or Turnpike experience is a plus.  Knowledge of PennDOT’s ECMS and PPCC system is a plus.

Technical Assistant (Entry Level Construction Inspection) – No experience required; however, applicant must, at a minimum, have their high school diploma or GED, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and do basic math computation for length, area, and volume.  Some experience in the transportation industry is a plus.

Harrisburg Office
